A, Yes. Just send us the photograph or, if you prefer, a very good photocopy will be adequate for a quote, giving your name, address and phone number and what restoration you want doing, ie. whether it is for a full restoration or up to a maximum spend, adding hand colouring, removing details, etc and we will be in touch. N.B. We will need either a scan or the original photo to carry out the work. If you do not wish to send us the original and are not able to scan it yourself, then a photocopying shop will probably be able to do it for you- specify the highest resolution scan and either email it or send it on a CD. (They can probably do this for you too.)
If you are placing an order for Photo restoration or enhancment please use the website to make payment. You can use a Pay Pal payment where you can pay by credit card or using a Pay Pal account. ( You do not need to be a Pay Pal member to pay using a credit card). This method is entirely secure and you need have no worrries about us accessing your personal information.
Alternatively, you can send a cheque made payable to:-

A. No, the original remains untouched. We restore a digital version of your photograph so you still have the historic orginal photo, so nothing is irreversible. We believe strongly in the integrity of family photographs and would not be prepared to irrevocably alter images that are, after all, historical documents.
A. First scan your image at a high resolution ( at least 400 dpi and preferably 600 dpi) Save it on your computer as a JPEG file ( select the highest file size when prompted to chose file size and make sure the file name includes your name and a number eg Smith 005.jpeg ).
In your email give us the details of your requirements- whether it is a request for a quote or an actual job. Quotes are given a unique reference number. Order confirmation will require our Quotation Reference No. along with your contact details and then attach the photo file and send it to us. If you decide to go ahead with the work, contacting us with the unique reference number will be enough - there is no need to re-send the file.
Or you can speak to us direct by calling 07508578399
A. Scan images at a minimum of 400 dpi, and if possible 600 dpi. If the original is small, scan at 600 dpi and dont forget to make sure the glass is clean and that your photo is free of dust etc
If you are sending lots of images or the photographs for an album restoration, it may be easier to send us a disc rather than email. For album photos you need not scan them individually- just make sure the scan size is set and then arrange your small pphotos to fill the availabe size. e.g an A4 scanner will probably take 5 or 6 photos depending on their size. We will separate them into indidual images. If in any dounbt feel free to contact us for help or advice.
A. Having a background in textiles and an interest in historical fashion, we are happy to offer additional services like dating your photographs. Dating photographs is not, however, an exact science and while we will undergo research, and use the benefit of our knowledge and experience we cannot guarantee to give a very precise date for your photograph. Please contact us for prices for a report into the information held within your photograph which may help to unlock a little bit more of your family history.
In your job order instructions, just tell us what caption you want us to include and we will print it below your photograph when we print it or place the captions on the photograph if for instance you want to add names.
Look out for our regular articles on this website about hints for dating your photos and fashion clues to your family history. Book mark this site to be sure to catch them all. !!
